Bobby Spears – Australian Cyclist (1893-1950) Won gold medal at World Championships in 1920. Other Principal races he won include: Grand Prix of Paris three times; Grand Prix of Copenhagen three times; Grand Prix of Milan three times; Grand Prix of Bordeaux three times; Grand Prix of Dresden twice; Grand Prix of Amsterdam twice; Grand Prix of Municipal Tours (France) twice. Inducted into Australian Hall of Fame 1985
Libby Gleeson- Australian Children's Author (1960-1962) Her books include: The Cleo Stories, Red, Mahtab's Story, Banjo & Ruby Red, Clancy & Millie, Sleeptime, Uncle David, Amy & Louis, Love Me Love Me Not, Dodger, Writing Like a Writer, and many more.
John William Varcoe -Leading Seaman and the model for the Martin Place Cenotaph Sailor. He enlisted 3rd June 1913, served on HMAS “Pioneer” 1914 – 1916 in German East Africa and on HMAS “Parramatta” 1917 – 1919. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal in 1918.
Major Joan Christie- (1924-1931) Officer-In-Charge, AAMWS, New Guinea force, Deputy Assistant Adjutant General, Women's Service, Australian Army, Aide-de-Camp to Lady Zara Gowrie, wife of Governor General of Australia.
Don Parish - Australian Rugby League Footballer (1943-1949) Played for Australia 1959-1962, NSW Blues 1958-1961, Western Suburbs 1961-1967, Penrith 1977-1978. Dubbo Public School has his Australian rugby league top.
Kel Brown- NSW Blues Rugby League Footballer ()Played for NSW Blues 1970, Eastern Suburbs 1971-
Ian Walsh (1940s) Australian Rugby League Player. Selected to play for Kangaroos in 1959-1960 tour, joined St George Dragons in 1962 and was appointed captain/coach in 1966.
George Thomas Bryan Palmer (1899–1990) was an Australian Rugby Union player who coached the Wallabies from 1963-1967. He has been described as "one of the most colourful personalities in Australian rugby.
Thelma Moxham (1922-1927)- Flight Lieutenant /Matron was awarded the Royal Red Cross medal on 14 June 1946 for exceptional services in military nursing with the Royal Australian Air Force Nursing Service. She resigned her position on her marriage.
Professor Bruce Dowton- (1962-1968) Current Vice Chancellor and President of Macquarie University. School Captain in 1968, Bruce is a paediatrician, clinical geneticist, molecular biologist, researcher and academic, and has served as a senior medical executive at a range of universities, healthcare institutions and consulting organisations.
Greg Benham (1920-1926) Sub Lieutentent. Awarded Distinguished Service Cross for bravery in WW2. He stayed behind in the New Ireland Province of PNG during the invasion by Japan. He and a mate were able to relay Japanese movements, unfortunately the plane for rescue missfired and it was presumed they were captured and killed.
